I have been the principal dentist at Shifnal Dental Practice since June, 2008. My interest in dentistry can best be described as a passion. Since qualification, I have developed a particular interest in root canal treatment and the use of dental implants. It is a real joy to help patients improve their smile, improve confidence and make their teeth feel and look so much better.
After qualifying in 2000, I have been involved with general practice and worked in an emergency dental clinic. Upon completion of the ITI Course, "Complete Implantology" and becoming a member of the world recognized International team for Implantology, I have been involved in implant dentistry both placing and restoring implant cases.
Continuing professional development has involved attending several courses both in the U.K. and abroad, with a particular emphasis on the use of microscopic endodontic procedures.
I spend my spare time with my family enjoying sailing, climbing and mountain biking on the hills of Shropshire, occasionally playing bridge and reading pre-sumerian novels.

I came to work in Shifnal in 1975, part time initially and then full time from 1977 until May 2008. I now work here two days a week.
I undertake all aspects of general dentistry, and also carry out fixed appliance orthodontics. (straightening teeth).
Other previous professional jobs include:
- A clinical assistantship in orthodontics for one session a week for a year in 1981.
- 20 years of lecturing once a year, to each of 3 vocational training schemes for newly qualified dentists in the West Midlands on treating children in general practice.
- 20 years on the Shropshire local dental committee - 12 of which as secretary to the committee.
Outside dentistry I have been captain of Telford and Shifnal Hockey club, and chairman of Wellington Cricket Club for 4 years 2002-2005. I have also been press and publicity officer, and chairman of sponsorship at Newport (Salop) rugby club. I enjoy horseriding, swimming and watching many sports at all levels.

Practiced in partnership with Phil Bradley B.D.S. at Bridgnorth, Shropshire for 27 years; currently working, part-time, in Shifnal.
I undertake most aspects of general dentistry and have a particular interest in Restorative dentistry.
Outside the Profession, I have a passion for Natural History, wildlife photography and model making.
I have served on Committees of various wildlife organizations and am on the Editorial Board of a leading Dragonfly Journal.
